Thirteen Indian sailors aboard a cargo ship MV AMIR1 are stranded amid continuous drone and missile attacks at Chornomorsk port on the Black Sea coast of Ukraine. There are a total of 15 crew members on board.

* Forward Siemens Union of India (FSUI) has called for the immediate intervention of the Central government and safe evacuation, calling it a “life-threatening situation” for the crew.
According to reports, the ship is currently unable to leave the port as the surrounding sea area remains extremely risky. This development has come at a time when India has expressed concern over the recent incidents of attacks on Ukrainian ports and merchant ships in the Black Sea region. The government has earlier advised to ensure the safety of Indian seafarers and exercise extra caution while sailing in conflict-affected areas.
