Chief Minister C. Jospeh Vijay’s ‘Jana Nayagan’ continues to enjoy a successful run at the box office, registering strong collections both in India and overseas within days of its release. According to a report by Variety, the film has secured the fifth position at the United Kingdom and Ireland box office, earning $596,324 (approximately ₹5.7 crore) in the two markets. The film trails Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey’, ‘Toy Story 5’, ‘Moana’ and ‘Minions and Monsters’, which occupy the top four spots. Distributed in the UK and Ireland by TGL Cinemas, ‘Jana Nayagan’ hit theatres on July 23. As per industry tracker Sacnilk, the film has grossed ₹233.24 crore worldwide so far. The film also marks Vijay’s final outing as an actor before his full-time political career. After leading his party to victory in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections held earlier this year, Vijay assumed office as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
