India is expected to win a number of medals on the sixth day of the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. Indian athletes will compete in sports like swimming, boxing, athletics and weightlifting. Importantly, the five Indian boxers participating in boxing will have a great chance of securing medals with a win.
The day will start with Indian star swimmer Sajan Prakash, who will try to make it to the semi-finals of the men’s 50m butterfly. A strong performance is expected from him. After this, all eyes will be on the boxing matches. Five Indian boxers will reach the quarter-finals, and a win here will guarantee them a medal. This could prove to be a big boxing success for the Indian contingent.
India’s hopes are high in athletics too. Pooja will challenge in the women’s high jump final, while long-distance runner Gulvir Singh will be among the medal contenders in the men’s 10,000m final. Strong performances are expected from both the athletes. The day’s final could bring good news for India in weightlifting. In the competitions to be held at 11 pm, Nirupama Devi Seram will compete in the women’s 63kg category final and Harjinder Kaur in the women’s 69kg category final. Both the Indian weightlifters have the potential to win medals and can add two more medals to the country’s name.
