Details of Posts and Salary
This recruitment process involves appointments in two distinct categories at the Forensic Science Laboratory, Lucknow:
Scientific Assistant: A total of 147 posts are reserved for this category. Candidates selected for this position will receive an attractive salary under Pay Level-6 (₹35,400 to ₹1,12,400).
Laboratory Assistant: Recruitment will be conducted for a total of 61 posts in this category. Selected candidates will receive remuneration in accordance with Pay Level-4 (₹25,500 to ₹81,100).
Who can apply? The Commission has laid down certain mandatory conditions for appearing in this examination:
PET 2025 Scorecard: Candidates must have appeared for the 'UPSSSC PET-2025' and possess a valid scorecard, as shortlisting for the main examination will be based solely on PET scores.
Educational Qualification: Depending on the specific post and subject, candidates must hold a B.Sc. degree in Physics, Chemistry, Biological Sciences (Botany, Zoology, Biotechnology, etc.), or Forensic Science. Additionally, for posts related to computer subjects, candidates with a B.Sc. in Computer Science, B.Tech, or an 'A' Level Diploma from NIELIT are also eligible.
Age Limit and Application Fee
Age Limit: Candidates must be between 21 and 40 years of age as of July 1, 2026. Candidates belonging to reserved categories in Uttar Pradesh (SC/ST/OBC, etc.) will be granted a relaxation of up to 5 years in the upper age limit, in accordance with state government rules.
Application Fee: The application processing fee is set at ₹25 for candidates across all categories (General, OBC, EWS, SC, ST, and Persons with Disabilities).
Selection Process
Candidates will be selected based on a main written examination. The main examination will carry 100 marks and will include questions related to Forensic Science and allied subjects, Computer Technology, and General Knowledge of Uttar Pradesh.
