A key feature of this recruitment drive is that neither a written exam nor an interview will be conducted for selection; instead, candidates will be selected via a lottery system.
The Department of Local Self Government has issued the official notification for the Rajasthan Sanitation Worker Recruitment 2026. Under this drive, more than 24,000 contractual sanitation worker positions will be filled across 183 urban local bodies in the state. Notably, there is no mandatory educational qualification requirement; even candidates who have never attended school can apply, provided they meet the specified experience criteria. The online application process begins on August 15, 2026.
No Written Exam or Interview
A key feature of this recruitment drive is that neither a written exam nor an interview will be conducted for selection; candidates will be selected via a lottery system. A separate lottery will be drawn for each urban local body. According to the department, priority will be given to candidates possessing at least one year of sanitation work experience within the respective urban local body. If a specific body does not yield enough eligible candidates, those with work experience from other urban local bodies in Rajasthan will also be included in the lottery process.
Who Can Apply?
Candidates applying for the recruitment must be permanent residents of Rajasthan. While no specific educational qualification is required, candidates must be physically and mentally fit. Additionally, candidates must possess at least one year of experience in sanitation work; this experience may be continuous or accumulated over separate periods. The experience certificate must be issued by the competent authority specified in the notification. Each candidate may apply for only one of the 183 urban local bodies.
