In the women’s 69kg category, weightlifter Harjinder Kaur performed brilliantly and won the silver medal. He broke the Commonwealth Games record twice each in snatch and clean and jerk. In his match, Harjinder lifted 99 kg in the first attempt in the snatch round and then 101 kg in the last attempt. After this, he lifted first 123kg and then 126kg in clean and jerk and a total weight of 227kg. Let us tell you, this was the best performance of Harjinder Kaur’s career.
Gulveer Singh created history
After Harjinder Kaur won the medal, long distance runner Gulveer Singh has created history by winning the silver medal in the men’s 10,000 meter race with a brilliant performance. Gulveer has become the first Indian in the history of Commonwealth Games to win a medal in this event or rather to reach the podium. Gulveer picked up pace from the beginning. In this match, Gulveer clocked 27:49:78 and was just 0.85 seconds behind Kai Robinson of Australia.
Vishal TK in semi-finals of 400 meter race
India’s national record holder in athletics Vishal TK has reached the semi-finals of men’s 400 meter race. Vishal secured second position with a timing of 46.49 seconds. Now he will be seen in action in the semi-final match. The 400 meter sprint competition will be held on Thursday, July 30.
