The government agency PIB Fact Check shared this post via its official X (Twitter) account, declaring it completely fake. In the caption accompanying the post, the agency wrote, "A post shared on social media claims that the Government of India will ban Instagram in India starting from the night of August 25, 2026."
The post further states that, according to PIB Fact Check, this claim is entirely bogus. "No such announcement has been made by the Government of India.
