Elon Musk: Musk clarifies his decision to donate his property

Elon Musk's Fortune: Nobel Prize-winning economist Daron Acemoglu has challenged Elon Musk to donate his entire wealth within the next ten years. Musk has now responded. In a recent interview, Musk said that the advent of artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics will create such an abundance of resources that by 2036, money will become meaningless.

What did the Nobel Prize winner say?

2024 Nobel Prize-winning economist Daron Acemoglu challenged Musk on the social media platform X, saying, "If money will be worthless in 2036, why don't you pledge to donate your nearly $1 trillion fortune to charity by 2036? That will increase people's trust in what you say."

Musk's surprising answer came

Responding to the challenge, Musk wrote on his social media handle, "I'm actually going to do something like this." Musk's response surprised the world. People began wondering if Musk was really planning to donate his entire wealth.

It's worth noting that after SpaceX's initial public offering in June this year, Musk briefly became the world's first trillionaire. A subsequent decline in the company's shares has since cost him that title. Currently, his net worth is estimated at around $700 billion, and he remains the world's richest man.
