Raj Babbar expresses grief over Suneil Anand's death says his heartfelt tribute to Dev Anand could never be made

Actor-politician Raj Babbar has expressed grief over the demise of filmmaker-actor Suneil Anand, the son of legendary actor Dev Anand. Remembering him as a kind and dignified individual, Babbar also spoke about the unfulfilled dream Suneil carried of making a film dedicated to his iconic father. Suneil Anand passed away at the age of 70 in the UK, leaving members of the film fraternity saddened by the loss.
Raj Babbar's heartfelt noteTaking to X, formerly known as Twitter, Raj Babbar shared a heartfelt message along with a photograph of Suneil Anand.
"Deepest condolences on the passing of filmmaker and actor #SuneilAnand ji, beloved son of the late #DevAnand ji. He was a true gentleman, known for his warmth, grace, and deep love for cinema."
He also reflected on the project Suneil could never complete.
"It’s heartbreaking that his plans to make a film in tribute to his father remained unfinished. May his family find strength, comfort, and peace in these difficult times. Holding you close in my thoughts, brother."
What happened to Suneil AnandAccording to reports, Suneil Anand suffered a heart attack while travelling from the United States to India, with a stopover in London. He was rushed to a hospital after suffering cardiac arrest, where doctors initially planned to perform a stent procedure.
However, before the surgery could be carried out, he suffered another heart attack. Despite repeated attempts by doctors to revive him, Suneil passed away. In a tragic coincidence, he died at the same hospital where his father, Dev Anand, had breathed his last years earlier.
Raj Babbar's contribution to cinema
Raj Babbar began his acting career opposite Reena Roy and rose to prominence with his performance in B. R. Chopra's 'Insaf Ka Tarazu'. He later became a regular face in the filmmaker's productions, starring in films such as 'Nikaah' and 'Aaj Ki Aawaz'.
Apart from his successful film career, Raj also made his mark on television with appearances in shows including 'Mahabharat', 'Bahadur Shah Zafar', 'Maharaja Ranjit Singh' and 'Pukaar - Call For The Hero'.
