Government Marriage Scheme: A unique initiative is being started by the Government of India and many other state governments with the aim of promoting social marriage as well as eradicating caste discrimination. Under this scheme, couples getting married are given an amount by the government. However, the condition will be that you will have to get married under this scheme. Dr. Ambedkar Yojana is run at the national level by the Dr. Ambedkar Foundation under the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. Under this scheme, a lump sum amount of Rs 2.5 lakh is given in the bank to eligible couples. Let us know about it in detail.

According to media reports, newlywed couples doing inter caste marriage are given incentive amount ranging from ₹ 50,000 to ₹ 5 lakh. Every state has a different amount, which is given to couples. But, before availing this benefit, you should know about its eligibility. To avail the benefits of this scheme, it is mandatory for either your husband or wife to be a Scheduled Caste (SC). Apart from this, the condition is that the second partner should be from non-scheduled caste i.e. General or OBC. According to eligibility, both should have first marriage. Also, legal registration of marriage is mandatory under Hindu Marriage Act, 1955 or Special Marriage Act.
How to apply?
If you also want to do inter-caste marriage, then it is possible that you can also get this benefit. To apply for this, you should apply with the recommendation of MP or MLA. For this you Dr. Ambedkar Foundation website (ambedkarfoundation.nic.in) can apply by taking information from. For this, along with marriage registration certificate, you need to provide Aadhar card and age certificate, original residence certificate, passport size joint photo of the couple and joint bank account passbook etc.
