I am in a good space mentally as Dhaturo, my new song, has been loved by the audience. Monsoon is among my favourite seasons because everything becomes so beautiful, and there is a sense of serenity all around. Sometimes, I love just stepping out of the house when it’s raining and getting drenched,” says Bhoomi Trivedi , who is enjoying the Mumbai rains . Excerpts from a chat:

‘I love long drives during monsoons’

I am a huge fan of ’90s songs and whenever it rains, I can listen to them for hours. I love long drives during monsoons, and my playlist includes songs like Barso Re, Nahi Saamne Tu, Rim Jhim Rim Jhim, Boondon Se Baatein and Baarish, to name a few. I love listening to all songs from the film Thakshak, and RD Burman ’s songs always add to the monsoon magic. I am passionate about photography and visiting scenic places like Lonavala tops my list during the season.

‘Monsoon is always inspiring for an artiste’

As an artiste, the monsoon is always inspiring. Nature at its best, with the lush greenery all around, brings me closer to myself. Woh mitti (wet earth) ki khushboo hi kuch aur hai, it instantly lifts the mood. I am not much of an activity person. On a typical rainy day, I sometimes feel like doing nothing. In Mumbai, I live on the 16th floor. Sometimes, I just love sitting on my balcony and watching the rain. I love feeling the breeze on my face while it’s pouring. And being a foodie, nothing beats a cup of chai with hot pakoras. I also love having soup, salads, garlic bread, and avocado toast.

‘I’ve fond memories of playing in the rain’

When I was a child, my father was posted in Valsad, where it rains heavily. I have many fond memories of playing in the rain, and whenever I hear rain songs, they take me right back to those carefree childhood days. It used to be lush green, and I just didn’t want the rain to stop. We loved visiting Tithal Beach and having bhutta. I really miss those days. Later, when we shifted to Vadodara, I would initially cry because I missed Valsad’s heavy rainfall.
