Guru Purnima is not only a celebration of teachers. It is a tribute to all the people and all the experiences that make us wiser than before. Some lessons are learned in classrooms by mentors, others are learned through work, relationships and the unexpected twists of life. On this special day, Jagadhatri actress Sayantani Ghosh , who essays the character of Maya, speaks about while her parents, husband and life have played the role of a guru in shaping the person she is today, its actually her work which has been her greatest teacher.

Sayantani Ghosh said, “I have been very lucky to have parents who have always been my biggest strength and who have laid the foundation of my life and teachers who laid the foundation of my learning. I can really say that my work has been my ‘guru’ as I started working at a very young age. I’ve learned everything from the technical side to the creative side on the job. Some of my most valuable lessons have come from my work."

She added, "While I do believe that my work has been my greatest teacher, over the years I have also learned that life itself teaches many important lessons. Also a special mention to my husband, Anugrah, who inspires me day in and day out to be the best version of myself. On this Guru Purnima, I thank everyone and everything that has contributed to making me what I am today."
