On July 30, during the Commonwealth Games 2026 in Glasgow, India had a remarkable day, securing three medals, which included one gold and two silvers. Additionally, six Indian boxers advanced to the semifinals, ensuring at least six more medals for the country.

The standout moment of the day occurred in the men's T47 100m event, where India achieved a historic one-two finish. Dilip Mahadu Gavit clinched the gold medal, setting a new Commonwealth Games record with a time of 10.71 seconds, showcasing an impressive sprint in the final stretch.

Mohammed Basil Morssinganakth followed closely, earning the silver medal with a time of 10.83 seconds, just ahead of England's Kevin Santos, who clocked 10.85 seconds, marking a significant achievement for Indian athletics.

In long jump, Murali Sreeshankar secured his second consecutive silver medal at the Commonwealth Games, leaping 8.09m, finishing behind Jamaica's Tajay Gayle, who jumped 8.15m. This achievement made Sreeshankar the first Indian male long jumper to win two medals at the Commonwealth Games.

Indian boxing had a stellar day, with six athletes moving into the semifinals, guaranteeing at least one bronze medal. The boxers included Sakshi Choudhary (women's 51kg), Jaismine Lamboria (women's 57kg), Arundhati Choudhary (women's 70kg), Sachin Siwach (men's 60kg), Ankush Panghal (men's 80kg), and Narender Berwal (men's 90+kg), all of whom won their quarterfinal matches.

In other athletics events, Manpreet Kaur narrowly missed out on a medal, finishing fourth in the women's shot put with a throw of 17.49m. National record holder Parul Choudhary placed fifth in the women's 3000m steeplechase final after falling behind the leading group.

India also saw promising results in track events, with Yashas Palaksha and Santhosh Kumar Tamilarasan qualifying for the men's 400m hurdles final, while Animesh Kujur advanced to the semifinals of the men's 200m. In the men's shot put, Tajinderpal Singh Toor and Samardeep Singh Gill made it to the final.

In lawn bowls, Dinesh Kumar and Navneet Singh triumphed over Namibia with a 2-0 victory in the men's pairs sectional play. Nayanmoni Saikia rebounded from an earlier loss to defeat Caroline Whitehead of the Isle of Man 2-0 in the women's singles, keeping her semifinal aspirations alive.

In swimming, Aryan Nehra finished sixth in the men's 1500m freestyle final, while Sajan Prakash and Aneesh S. Gowda did not qualify for the men's 200m freestyle final. In para-swimming, Suyash Narayan Jadhav and Chaitanya Vishwas Kulkarni reached the men's 50m freestyle S7 final, finishing fourth and fifth, respectively.

In para athletics, Sagar Thayat achieved a season-best throw of 51.79m, finishing sixth, while Devender Kumar placed seventh with a throw of 48.20m in the men's discus throw F42-44/F61-64 final.

By the end of Day 7, India had amassed a total of 15 medals in Glasgow, comprising three gold, nine silver, and three bronze.
