Pakistan government is voting in occupied Kashmir by force. Atrocity is increasing there. Pakistan police fired indiscriminately on common people. At least 20 people died. International human rights organization Amnesty International has joined this incident. They demanded an impartial investigation.

In a statement on Tuesday, Amnesty’s acting regional director for South Asia, Isabelle Lassi, said, “There are alarming reports from Rawalkot. The actions taken by security forces against protesters is a continuation of Pakistan’s history of violence. An impartial and transparent investigation into the whole incident must be carried out immediately.” The human rights organization has also expressed concern over the suspension of internet-mobile services in Occupied Kashmir. Isabel added, “As long as the internet and mobile services are down, the real picture of the situation there will not be known, which is quite alarming. We call on the government of Pakistan to restore communications and allow media and impartial observers to enter the area.” At the same time, Amnesty questioned the ban on the Joint Awami Action Committee in Occupied Kashmir.

The first phase of the 3-phase elections in Occupied Kashmir was held on Monday. As soon as the elections started, reports of violence started coming from various places. Burning of ballots took place in several places. Areas like Rawalkot, Kotli became virtual battlefields. The Joint Awami Action Committee had been protesting in Rawalkot for the past 52 days. The security forces were accused of firing indiscriminately to quell the protests. The protestors alleged that the police opened fire on the peaceful march. At least 20 people are said to have died in this attack. Many people are fighting with death due to gunshot wounds.
