Once again, Golden State Warriors general manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. failed to get the deal done.
LeBron James could’ve taken his talents to the Bay Area, but he chose the Philadelphia 76ers instead, snubbing the Warriors again.
The Dunleavy era has been full of swing-and-misses in free agency and the trade market. He’s gotten stars like Jimmy Butler, Al Horford and Kristaps Porzingis, all of whom were already past their prime.
That’s why, knowing that the team is looking to stay competitive in the post-Steph Curry era, it wouldn’t be much of a surprise to watch No. 30 request a trade.
According to ESPN insider Shams Charania, that won’t be the case.
Stephen Curry won’t leave Golden State
Curry is approaching the back end of his career, and he’s watched the organization essentially wave the white flag.
They won’t go all-in to help him win another championship, which ultimately means they don’t think he’s capable of doing so.
Nevertheless, the greatest shooter of all time is staying put, barring a shocking turn of events.
The Warriors aren’t doing right by the player who put them on the map and led them to four NBA championships in six trips to the NBA Finals, all during the so-called LeBron James era.
And with all the borderline superstars chasing moves to win a ring, it would be hard to blame one of the greatest to ever do it for doing the same.
