The IPL 2026 season ended just a couple months ago, with defending champions RCB basically making history by winning the title. Even if there is still more than seven months remaining before IPL 2027 begins, the franchises have already started thinking about what’s next, planning ahead, in a way.
The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) were the first to announce a special fitness camp for their players. Now , it looks like Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are also leaning in that direction, as they start their IPL 2027 preparations.
As per a report by Revsportz, CSK, Delhi Capitals, and SRH have already begun working on their plans for the upcoming IPL 2027 season. All three teams will arrange fitness camps for their squad as part of these early preparations, basically getting their rhythm set.
The report said that Delhi Capitals and SRH will run their camps in early August , kinda close to each other. In the meantime , CSK management asked its players to give them a convenient two or three-day window so they can join the camp.
These get-togethers should let the franchises run a quick check on player fitness, gauge how well everyone is doing, and spot the spots that need sharper focus. They’re also expected to boost team chemistry a bit, while giving the squads a proper head start to prep for the IPL 2027 season.
Earlier on, the same report had mentioned that the CSK side invited players for a two or three-day training camp. The core aim is pretty simple , to judge each player’s fitness and availability, before CSK makes key calls on retentions, releases, and even possible trades coming up ahead of IPL 2027.
The report further noted that overseas players may not be likely to show up for the CSK camp. So, it’s expected that only Indian players and local talents will attend. Still though , there has been no clear update yet on whether former captain and legendary wicketkeeper-batter MS Dhoni will make an appearance at the fitness camp or not.

CSK have not really reached the playoffs since they won the IPL 2023 title in Ahmedabad. And, since MS Dhoni passed on the captaincy, the franchise has found it hard to match that old sort of success under their current skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad. In the IPL 2026 season, CSK ended up finishing eighth on the points table, they won only six of their 14 league games.
Delhi Capitals and SRH, they are also trying to bounce back, because in the last few seasons things have been a bit uneven. Delhi Capitals are still chasing that first IPL title, and they last qualified for the playoffs way back in 2021. SRH meanwhile lifted their only IPL trophy in 2016, after that they’ve been looking for another title. basically searching, and not finding it yet.
Now, as CSK, Delhi Capitals and SRH get ready to hold training camps ahead of IPL 2027, they’ve got a solid chance to improve fitness, tighten their squads, and lay down a stronger foundation for the new season.
