The much-awaited trailer of Nitesh Tiwari 's ' Ramayana ' was unveiled during the auspicious Brahma Muhurat at 4:15 AM on Thursday, setting the tone for what is being hailed as one of Indian cinema's most ambitious spectacles. Within hours of its release, the trailer began trending across social media, earning widespread praise for its scale, visuals and performances.
Fans have particularly applauded Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Yash as Ravana, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Rakul Preet Singh as Surpanakha. The film also features an ensemble cast including Adinath Kothare as Bharath, alongside Vivek Oberoi, Ravi Dubey, Lara Dutta and others in pivotal roles.
Speaking exclusively to ETimes, Adinath expressed his gratitude for being associated with the magnum opus. He shared, "I think I'm just purely blessed and extremely grateful and honoured that I'm a part of this epic historical milestone in Indian cinema. This journey is a humongous, magnum opus journey and I think God has been kind. Of course, I want to thank Mukesh Chhabra, who believed in me and cast me in this film, and Nitesh Tiwari sir and Namit Malhotra sir for making me a part of this grand journey. This is such an important story."
Adinath's portrayal of Bharat, Lord Ram's devoted younger brother, is among the film's highly anticipated performances, although the trailer offers only a brief glimpse of his character.
The actor was recently in the news after he and actress Urmila Kanetkar announced their separation after 15 years of marriage. The former couple shared that while they have decided to part ways, they remain committed to co-parenting their daughter, Jizah, and will continue to prioritise her well-being.
Amid this personal issue, Adinath Kothare is now gearing up for one of the biggest films of his career. He was also part of Ranveer Singh starrer '83', where he played the role of Dilip Vengsarkar.
