New Delhi: Indian athletes will look to continue their strong run at the Commonwealth Games 2026 on Thursday, July 30. India added three medals, including a gold to its tally on Wednesday to increase it to 15. Dilip Mahadu Gavit secured India’s third gold medal at the Games by finishing on top of the podium in the men’s 100m T47 event.

India recorded a landmark one-two finish in the men’s 100M T47 event as Dilip and Mohammed Basil bagged the gold and silver medals, respectively. Murali Sreeshankar won silver in the men’s long jump with his best leap of 8.09m. He clinched his second successive silver medal at the CWG, having won silver in the last edition of the competition in 2022.

India will have a chance to add more medals to its tally on Day 8 of the Games in Glasgow on Thursday. India will be eyeing medals in athletics and weightlifting with multiple athletes in contention across categories. Tajinderpal Singh Toor will be competing in the men’s shot put final, while Parul Chaudhary will be in action in the women’s 5000m final.

Seema Kaliramna and Nidhi Rani will represent India in the women’s discus throw final, while weightlifters Martina Devi Maibam and Lovepreet Singh will also feature in finals in their respective categories. Double Olympic medallist Neeraj Chopra will also get his campaign underway in Glasgow by featuring in the men’s javelin throw qualifying round.
