Lucknow: The monsoon is once again becoming active in Uttar Pradesh. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued warnings for heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and strong winds across several districts on July 30. According to the weather department, many areas in western and central Uttar Pradesh are expected to experience overcast skies with intermittent heavy rain throughout the day. Wind speeds could reach between 30 to 40 kilometers per hour in some locations.

The IMD forecasts significant rainfall in districts such as Saharanpur, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Meerut, Baghpat, Bijnor, Amroha, Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur, Sitapur, Hardoi, Lucknow, and surrounding areas. Intense showers accompanied by thunder are likely, which may lead to waterlogging in low-lying areas and disrupt traffic.

The IMD has advised the public to avoid unnecessary travel during adverse weather conditions. It is recommended to stay away from open fields, trees, and power poles. Farmers are also urged to consider the weather when planning agricultural activities. Authorities have been instructed to remain vigilant in sensitive areas and be prepared for any emergencies.

Meteorologists indicate that changes in the monsoon trough's position have led to a resurgence of rainfall activities in Uttar Pradesh. Although the intensity of rain may decrease temporarily after July 30, there is a likelihood of the monsoon strengthening again from August 2, suggesting that many regions in the state could witness substantial rainfall in the coming days.

Due to the rain, a drop in temperatures is anticipated in several cities, providing relief from humidity and heat. However, areas experiencing continuous rainfall may face issues such as waterlogging, slippery conditions, and localized flooding. The weather department has urged citizens to stay updated with official weather reports and adhere to guidelines issued by local authorities.
