The official teaser of Winkle Twinkle was unveiled on Thursday, offering audiences the first glimpse of the much-awaited film. Directed by Srijit Mukherji, the film stars Ritwick Chakraborty , Parambrata Chattopadhyay, Angana Roy, Anusua Majumder, Debesh Chattopadhyay and Rajatabha Dutta, and unfolds against the backdrop of Bengal's political history.
The story follows Sabyasachi Sen, a political prisoner who mysteriously disappeared in 1976 and returns home in 2002 to find that both his family and the world around him have changed beyond recognition. At the heart of the narrative is the relationship between a father who has remained steadfast in his revolutionary ideals and a son whose political beliefs have taken him in the opposite direction. Their reunion becomes an emotionally charged exploration of conviction, identity, love and the invisible distance that time can create.


While the teaser reveals little about the plot, it effectively sets the tone for a deeply moving drama, with haunting visuals, emotional conflict and thought-provoking storytelling.
According to the production house, Winkle Twinkle follows a man who returns to his family after decades of absence, setting off emotional fragmentation and bringing unresolved histories to the surface. While set against a political backdrop, the film is essentially a deeply personal story that explores the passage of time, generational divides, and the burden of one's convictions.
Based on Bratya Basu 's work, Winkle Twinkle promises an emotionally layered cinematic experience that reflects on how history, ideology and family continue to shape one another across generations.
