Petrol-Diesel Rates Today (July 31): State-run oil companies have not altered petrol and diesel prices across the country today, and rates remain at their previous levels.

The last price change occurred on May 25, when state-owned Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) hiked petrol prices by ₹2.61 per litre and diesel prices by ₹2.71 per litre. Consequently, petrol in Delhi costs ₹102.12 per litre, and diesel costs ₹95.20 per litre. In Noida and Ghaziabad, petrol and diesel prices are ₹102.12 per litre and ₹97.56 per litre, respectively.

How much did crude oil prices change?

On Thursday, oil prices retreated from recent highs as crude oil tanker shipments from the Middle East continued. According to a Reuters report, global benchmark Brent crude prices fell by nearly 1% yesterday, trading around $87.30 per barrel; this followed a 7.91% surge in the previous session—one of the sharpest spikes since the outbreak of conflict involving Iran. This volatility stemmed from escalating tensions between the US and Iran.
