The Yogi government has given a major gift to the residents of rural Uttar Pradesh. People living in rural areas will no longer need to travel to cities to get an Aadhaar card made or to update details such as their name, address, mobile number, or biometric information. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s Panchayati Raj Department has launched a significant initiative to develop Gram Panchayats into digital service centers. Under this initiative, Aadhaar enrollment and update services have been introduced in 110 Gram Panchayats across six districts. More than 75,000 Aadhaar-related services have already been provided through this system.

Amit Kumar Singh, Director of the Panchayati Raj Department, stated that the Yogi government plans to extend this facility to all Gram Panchayats in a phased manner. The scheme aims to establish Aadhaar centers in all 57,694 Gram Panchayats across the state.

The first phase covers 5,000 Gram Panchayats. This will not only save time and money for rural residents but also create a new avenue for increasing the income of Gram Panchayats.

**Training Panchayat Assistants as Aadhaar Operators**
To accelerate the implementation of this scheme, Panchayat assistants are being trained as Aadhaar operators. So far, over 1,200 Panchayat assistants have received initial training, while training for the remaining staff is ongoing. Currently, operator IDs for 179 Panchayat assistants have been activated, and the activation of 157 Aadhaar machines has been completed. Consequently, the scope of services at the Gram Panchayat level is expanding rapidly.

The first phase covers 5,000 Gram Panchayats. This will not only save time and money for rural residents but also create a new avenue for increasing the income of Gram Panchayats.

According to the Panchayati Raj Director, this initiative will not be limited to Aadhaar services alone; it will lay a strong foundation for developing Gram Panchayats into digital citizen service centers in the future. This will ensure that rural residents receive government services within their own villages while also strengthening the financial self-reliance of Gram Panchayats. The department is committed to digitally empowering Gram Panchayats. The launch of Aadhaar services is a significant step, and their benefits will soon reach every village in the state.
