Rafael Leao's future at AC Milan is still unclear, with Fenerbahce preparing fresh discussions and a highly lucrative salary proposal in a bid to win the race for the Portugal international. With interest from the Premier League and La Liga yet to turn into anything concrete, the Turkish giants feel they have a real chance.

Fenerbahce have intensified their push for Leao as Milan aim to bring in around €50m-€60m from the sale of the Portugal forward, according to Corriere dello Sport. The Turkish side are expected to meet Leao's representatives in Milan in the coming hours, although no formal bid has so far been sent to the Rossoneri.

Milan see his possible exit as important to financing further additions after the arrivals of Mario Gila and Goncalo Ramos. Leao is still weighing up his options, with the hope of drawing interest from the Premier League or Spain, but Fenerbahce and Galatasaray are still the only clubs to have made concrete approaches.

Fenerbahce are prepared to tempt Leao with a deal worth around €10 million per season plus bonuses as they try to move ahead of fierce rivals Galatasaray. At the same time, Gazzetta reports that the winger spent part of his holiday in Turkey, adding to speculation over his future, though Milan are still waiting for the first official offer.

He is expected to take more time before making a final decision and is due to rejoin the squad for their pre-season tour of Australia. Before the World Cup, Leao made his intentions clear by saying he wanted a new challenge, and according to the source, "a month and a half later he has not changed his mind."

Despite the rising interest from Turkey, Leao is still hoping that a top club from England or Spain joins the race before he commits to his next move. Gazzetta also says the 27-year-old does not want to remain in Italy unless he stays with Milan, although he would consider a transfer to Turkey under the right conditions. His displays at the World Cup have also done little to trigger a broader bidding battle. Leao scored against Uzbekistan and started only against Croatia, where his cross led to Ramos' winning goal.

For now, Leao's priority is to wait and see if another major club comes forward before deciding his future. He is scheduled to attend a commercial event in Brazil before returning for Milan's pre-season tour of Australia.
