Indian actress Avika Gaur has said that she does not prioritize popularity or financial gain alone when choosing a career, but also gives equal importance to her personal values and social responsibilities. She revealed that she has refused to do advertisements for fairness cream, alcohol and betting apps several times because she does not endorse products that go against her principles.
Artists in the television and film industry often get opportunities that are financially attractive, but each artist makes decisions based on their personal thinking and social responsibilities. Avika Gaur, who has established her own identity in both television and film, says that she does not accept any kind of work that goes against her values.
During a recent conversation, Avika Gaur said that she has rejected many offers in her career that could have been commercially beneficial, but they did not match her personal principles.
Refusal of advertisements for fairness creams
Aveka Gor said that she has refused to advertise fairness creams that whiten the skin many times. According to her, associating beauty only with skin color gives the wrong message to the society. She said that in the present era, self-confidence, personality and ability should be given importance, and not just appearance. That is why she does not want to be a part of any advertising campaign that can create a sense of inferiority among people.
Avoidance of advertising for alcohol and betting apps
The actress also made it clear that she does not advertise products and platforms to alcohol or online betting. She believes that the responsibility of artists in public life is not limited to entertainment only, but their message reaches millions of people. Aveka Gor says that before accepting any advertisement or project, she definitely thinks about what impact it will have on society and whether she wants to associate herself with this message or not.
Choosing films and stories thoughtfully
Oveka Gor said that when she is offered a film or project, she does not just look at the character or script but also tries to understand what kind of message the story will convey to society. She said that if a film presents topics that reflect social realities and their consequences are shown responsibly, then she has no objection to playing such roles.
Giving an example, she said that if her character in a story smokes or drinks alcohol, but the story also shows the negative consequences of these habits responsibly, then she is ready to play such a role. According to her, this is part of presenting social reality, not its promotion.
Supporting the creative freedom of artists
Oveka Gor said that there should not be excessive restrictions on artists because it is necessary to present different topics and characters in the process of art and storytelling. According to her, the purpose of films and web series is not only to provide entertainment but also to bring out different aspects of society. That is why artists should have creative freedom on the condition of working responsibly.
On the work front, Avika Gaur will be seen in the upcoming film “Tera Sai”. Apart from this, she is also a part of the popular stunt-based reality show “Khatron Ke Khiladi Season 15”.
