Protests Demand Action Against Maulana Ansari

On Friday, activists from the Indian Cow Protection Organization staged a protest against Maulana Jargis Ansari. The demonstrators called for his arrest and strict legal action due to his alleged comments about Hindu deities. Gathering around 12:30 PM at Hazratganj intersection, the protesters waved saffron flags and chanted slogans against the Maulana.

Following this, they symbolically beat an effigy of Ansari with shoes and set it ablaze. The protest lasted approximately 15 minutes, with participants accusing Ansari of disrespecting Lord Shiva and Lord Krishna through his remarks.

Devendra Tiwari, the president of the Indian Cow Protection Council, stated that Ansari has repeatedly made offensive comments against Sanatan Dharma and Hindu deities. He mentioned that the organization would file a complaint with the police demanding action against the Maulana.

The controversial remarks by Ansari were made earlier this month in Bihar, further escalating tensions after he claimed that Lord Krishna prayed five times a day. Earlier this month, the Lucknow police had registered a case against Ansari at Hazratganj police station following complaints of hurting Hindu religious sentiments.

He has been charged under sections of the Indian Penal Code related to acts intended to offend religious feelings, as well as section 66 of the Information Technology Act.
