Indian boxer Jaismine Lamboria showcased an outstanding performance, securing her spot in the women's 57kg final at the Commonwealth Games 2026. She triumphed over Lesotho's Rapelang Maselela through a Referee Stop Contest (RSC) in the semifinal held on Friday, guaranteeing India a silver medal. The reigning world champion had previously defeated England's Elise Glynn to reach this stage, demonstrating her skill and control throughout the match, as reported by ESPN.

In the opening round, Jaismine effectively utilized her height advantage, maintaining composure against Maselela's aggressive tactics while delivering cleaner punches. Her precision and movement earned her a unanimous 5-0 score from the judges.

Continuing her strong performance in the second round, Jaismine unleashed powerful combinations that prompted the referee to issue a standing count against Maselela. As the Lesotho boxer struggled to respond, Jaismine landed another series of significant punches, leading to additional standing counts. Following the third standing count, the referee halted the contest, awarding Jaismine a decisive RSC victory and securing her place in the gold medal match.

With this victory, Jaismine became the third Indian boxer to reach the final at the Commonwealth Games 2026, following Ankush Panghal and Preeti Pawar, further solidifying India's strong boxing campaign in Glasgow.

To date, India has amassed a total of 17 medals at the Commonwealth Games 2026, including three gold, nine silver, and five bronze. The gold medals were achieved by Mirabai Chanu in women's 48kg weightlifting, Sharmila Dhankar in women's shot put F57, and Dilip Gavit in men's 100m T47.

India's silver medalists include Rishikanta Singh, Muthupandi Raja, Gyaneshwari Yadav, Sarvesh Kushare, Valluri Ajaya Babu, Harjinder Kaur, Gulveer Singh, Murali Sreeshankar, Mohammed Basil, and Lovepreet Singh. Bronze medals were secured by Jhandu Kumar, Bindyarani Devi, Shilpa K Shyla, and Seema Kaliramna.
