IndiGo Flight Update: IndiGo takes a big decision, wide-body aircraft service will be closed from October.

IndiGo Airlines has announced a major change to its operations. The airline announced that it will discontinue its wide-body aircraft services from October 25, 2026. The existing lease agreement with Norse Atlantic Airways will also be terminated by October 31, 2026. The airline cited rising costs and geopolitical tensions as factors behind this decision.

Information about affected flights

This change will affect passengers traveling from India to Europe. Flights from Mumbai to Amsterdam will now be operated by Airbus A321XLR aircraft from October 25, 2026. Flights to London Heathrow will be discontinued from the same date until IndiGo receives its own Airbus A350-900 aircraft. Additionally, flights to Manchester will be discontinued from August 31, 2026 .

What is the situation for passengers?

Abhijit Dasgupta, IndiGo’s senior vice president, said the company remains focused on international expansion. They are working to further strengthen their European network and will begin service with their own fleet of wide-body aircraft from mid- 2028 . IndiGo will fully assist passengers whose bookings are affected with alternative travel options or refunds.
