LPG cylinder prices have been reduced in Delhi and Kolkata starting today, August 1. However, the price cut is limited to 19 kg commercial LPG cylinders. According to news agency ANI, sources state that the price has been reduced by ₹202 in Delhi and ₹209 in Kolkata. The new price for a 19 kg cylinder in Kolkata is now ₹2,872.50, while in Delhi, it is ₹2,728. These new rates are effective from August 1, 2026.
However, no change in commercial LPG cylinder prices is visible on the websites of state-run petroleum companies. According to the Indian Oil website, the price of an Indane commercial gas cylinder is ₹2,885.50 in Mumbai and ₹3,106 in Chennai. Commercial LPG cylinders are used in hotels, restaurants, *dhabas*, and other commercial establishments.
**Cylinder prices were reduced in July as well**
Prior to this, commercial LPG prices were also reduced on July 1, 2026. The reduction was up to ₹183.50. Before that, commercial LPG cylinder prices had risen seven times between January and June of this year. Prices were hiked twice in March. These increases were driven by supply disruptions and concerns in the global LPG market caused by the US-Iran conflict in West Asia.
**No change in domestic LPG cylinder prices**
There has been no change in the price of the 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder. Its price was last revised on June 7, 2026, when it was increased by ₹29. According to the Indian Oil Corporation website, the current price of a non-subsidized 14.2 kg domestic Indane LPG cylinder is ₹942 in Delhi. The price is ₹941 in Mumbai, ₹968 in Kolkata, and ₹957.50 in Chennai. Rates vary across states depending on local sales tax or VAT.
