The Uttar Pradesh Board of Secondary Education has taken a significant step towards making the examination process more secure and transparent. For the first time, answer sheets for the High School improvement and compartment exams, as well as the Intermediate compartment exam, have been transported to evaluation centers via the Postal Department. Additionally, starting with the 2027 board examinations, students' signatures will be included on their admit cards. The objective of these new measures is to enhance the security of answer sheets, streamline the evaluation process, and effectively curb irregularities such as the use of 'solvers' (impostors) and cheating.

On July 28, answer booklets from 92 examination centers across all 75 districts of the state were first transported to district-level collection centers. Subsequently, the Postal Department transported them to the sole main collection center located at Government Inter College (GIC), Prayagraj.

**Reduced Risk of Irregularities**
All answer booklets will undergo scanning at GIC, Prayagraj. Following this, they will be transmitted online to evaluation centers in Prayagraj, Meerut, and Varanasi. Once evaluation is complete, examiners will record the marks online. This new system significantly minimizes the risk of answer booklets being lost, stolen, or tampered with during transit. It will also reduce expenses related to teachers, staff, and security arrangements.

**Student Signatures on Admit Cards from 2027**
The UP Board has taken another crucial decision to curb the menace of impersonators and 'solver gangs' in examinations. Starting with the 2027 High School and Intermediate examinations, students' signatures will be printed on their admit cards. Currently, signatures are being collected alongside photographs during the online registration process.

**Arrangements for Transporting Answer Sheets via the Postal Department**
During the examination, when students sign their answer booklets and attendance sheets, these signatures will be cross-verified with the signatures on their admit cards. This measure will significantly reduce the likelihood of impersonation—where someone else takes the exam on a student's behalf. UP Board Secretary Bhagwati Singh stated that a system for dispatching answer sheets via the postal department is currently being tested. If this experiment proves successful, it will be fully implemented for the main board examinations starting next year.
