Marcus Rashford’s spell with Barcelona came to an end on Friday after the club decided not to trigger the €40 million purchase option in his deal. As per Superdeporte, the 28-year-old will now return to Manchester United, where Michael Carrick is in charge.
Rashford was used regularly by Hansi Flick, with the winger remaining a steady selection throughout his loan stint.
He featured in 49 matches this season and delivered 14 goals along with 14 assists.
Rashford was also part of Barcelona’s title-winning campaigns in the league and the Spanish Super Cup.
With fellow Englishman Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi arriving to strengthen the wide areas, there was no route to a permanent stay at Camp Nou. He will now either link up again with United’s squad or look for a transfer away from the Premier League.
