Seventeen fishermen were rescued after their fishing boat developed engine trouble off the Kozhikode coast in Kerala. The Coastal Police and local residents brought all of them ashore safely, while those with minor injuries were shifted to hospital for treatment.

Kozhikode (Kerala): Seventeen fishermen stranded at sea after their fishing boat developed engine trouble off the Kozhikode coast were rescued by the Coastal Police and local residents on Saturday.
The fishermen had ventured into the sea from Beypore harbour when the boat suffered an engine failure and became stranded off Kappalangadi in Kadalundi, a statement said.
All 17 fishermen on board were rescued and brought ashore safely.
Those who sustained minor injuries were shifted to the Taluk Hospital for treatment. None of the injuries was serious, the statement added.
