New Delhi:Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles and Mahindra & Mahindra have reported amazing robust passenger vehicle sales in July 2026. The Indian market has continued great demand for SUVs. Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. sold 63,760 units across domestic and international markets during the month, up 59% from 40,175 units in July last year. Sales were also marginally higher than June’s 63,083 units, rising by 1.1%.

Domestic passenger vehicle sales rose 58% year-on-year to 62,611 units, compared with 39,521 units in July 2025. The figure sees a slight surge from the 62,076 units sold in June. International business sales nearly doubled to 1,149 units from 654 units a year earlier and improved from 1,007 units in the preceding month.

EV sales were a key growth driver for Tata Motors. Combined domestic and international EV dispatches reached 15,217 units in July. That is a 114% increase from 7,124 units in the same period last year. The company also exceeded its June EV volumes of 14,800 units.

For Tata, both June and July have seen good performance. During June, the brand had said localised supply constraints had affected production and deliveries of the Sierra SUV despite a backlog of bookings, with measures in effect to improve both component availability and accelerate customer deliveries from the second quarter. 

Mahindra & Mahindra, meanwhile, reported domestic passenger vehicle sales of 60,048 units in July, up 20% from 49,871 units in the same period last year. Its passenger vehicle portfolio consisted entirely of utility vehicles, with no cars or vans sold during the month.

Including exports, Mahindra’s total passenger vehicle volumes stood at 60,887 units in July, slightly lower than the 61,504 units reported in June. Domestic SUV sales also eased slightly from 60,393 units in June, though the company maintained double-digit annual growth.

For the April-July period of FY27, Mahindra sold 234,793 passenger vehicles, up 16% from 201,938 units in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year. Across all segments, Mahindra’s total vehicle sales, including exports, reached 103,860 units in July. That is a 26% year-on-year increase. Utility vehicle exports lifted its overall SUV volumes to 60,887 units.
