According to a recent report by journalist Graeme Bailey, Manchester United are closely tracking Newcastle United full-back Lewis Hall. It is understood that the Red Devils are considering a move to bring the English defender to Old Trafford during this summer transfer window.

Hall produced an impressive spell of form for the Tyneside club in the previous campaign, delivering a series of steady performances on the left side of their backline. The 21-year-old found the net once and registered two assists in 47 appearances for Newcastle last season across all competitions.

The English youngster is currently regarded as one of the most gifted full-backs in the Premier League. Therefore, it is hardly surprising that the Red Devils are looking at the possibility of signing him in this off-season.

His existing contract at St. James’ Park runs until the summer of 2029, and that could make it difficult for Manchester United to secure his services for a reduced fee later this year.

Hall relishes making tackles and shows good awareness when it comes to reading danger and winning possession back for his side inside his own half. He also tends to clear his lines when the opposition are applying pressure and is a capable crosser from the left flank.

The English talent is energetic and mobile in wide areas, and he can also contribute with the occasional goal or assist for his team. Hall is mainly a left-back, but he can also operate as a box-to-box midfielder or feature as a left-sided wide player when needed. He is already well acquainted with the Premier League and should not need much time to adapt to life at Old Trafford if the Red Devils succeed in signing him this summer.

Hall would add greater quality and depth to Manchester United head coach Michael Carrick’s squad. He has the attributes required to challenge for a regular first-team place at the Theatre of Dreams over the coming seasons.

At 21, Hall appears to have a very bright future ahead of him, provided he continues to develop year after year. For that reason, Carrick should make a serious effort to snap him up in this transfer window.
