Rain Alert: A spell of rain is underway across most states. The Meteorological Department has issued alerts for heavy rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds in several states. According to the department, warnings have been issued for states including Assam, Sikkim, Meghalaya, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Gujarat. Flood-like conditions have developed in some districts due to continuous heavy rainfall. Alerts for rainfall ranging from light to heavy have been issued for 13 states; strong winds at 30 to 60 km/h are also expected during this period.
The Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rain warning for August 1 for Kerala, Gujarat, Mahe, Coastal Karnataka, and South Karnataka. Alerts for heavy rainfall have also been issued for Northeast India and Northwest India for the coming week.

The IMD has issued an alert for light to heavy rainfall on August 2 across 13 states, including Eastern Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Eastern Rajasthan, Karnataka, Kerala, and Assam.
Weather in North India:
Regarding North India, rainfall alerts have been issued for Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, and Uttarakhand for the next week. According to the Meteorological Department, rain warnings have been issued for Punjab (August 3–4) and for Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, and Western Uttar Pradesh (August 3–7). Scattered or isolated rainfall is expected in other parts of Northwest India.
Delhi Weather Forecast
According to the latest forecast by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) for Delhi-NCR, light rain or drizzle is likely in several areas. The IMD predicts a maximum temperature of 33°C and a minimum of 25°C for August 2, with light rain expected. Additionally, cloudy conditions are likely to persist on August 3. Light rain is also expected on August 4 and 5.
Rain Warning for UP
The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for heavy rain in Eastern UP districts—including Lucknow, Sitapur, Hardoi, Unnao, Barabanki, Ayodhya, Gonda, Bahraich, Sant Kabir Nagar, Gorakhpur, Deoria, Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Azamgarh, Mau, Ballia, and Ghazipur—between August 2 and 7. Meanwhile, heavy rainfall is also forecast for Western UP districts—such as Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Shamli, Saharanpur, Baghpat, Ghaziabad, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Mathura, and Agra—from August 3 to 7.
Bihar Weather Forecast
An alert has been issued for heavy rain accompanied by strong winds in Bihar. According to the Meteorological Department, alerts for moderate to heavy rainfall have been issued for several districts—including Patna, Gaya, Nalanda, Nawada, Jehanabad, Bhojpur, Buxar, Rohtas, Kaimur, Aurangabad, Muzaffarpur, and Kishanganj—between August 2 and 6. The IMD states that the spell of rain will continue across most areas during this period, with strong winds at 30 to 40 km/h.
Rain Warning for Himachal Pradesh
The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for heavy rain in several districts, including Shimla, Mandi, Kullu, Kangra, Chamba, Hamirpur, Bilaspur, Sirmaur, Kinnaur, and Lahaul-Spiti. Widespread rainfall is expected across the state from August 2 to 7.
Uttarakhand Weather Forecast
An alert regarding rainfall has been issued for Uttarakhand up to August 7. The Meteorological Department has forecast widespread rain across the state between August 2 and 7. Heavy rain is likely in several districts, including Dehradun, Haridwar, Nainital, Udham Singh Nagar, Tehri Garhwal, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Uttarkashi, Almora, Bageshwar, Pithoragarh, and Champawat.
