Assam is currently reeling from the aftermath of a devastating flood. As many as four districts and over two lakh people have been affected by the disaster.

Reportedly, around 80 people have lost their lives while thousands of families have been displaced. Many are still staying at relief camps. Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda recently visited Sivasagar Railway Station in the flood-hit district to help people on the ground. A viral video showed him distributing langar. He also spoke about what the people of Assam are currently going through and said that he wanted to do his bit to ensure they have something to eat and a reason to smile. Randeep Hooda Reaches Flood-Hit Assam In the clip,   says, "Main abhi Global Sikhs ke sath Shivsagar railway station pe aaya hu jaha pe kaafi saari families relief camp mein upasthit hai. Yaha pe logon ko sukha ration toh milraha hai par naa inke paas chulha hai, naa gas hai toh banayenge kaise?" (Translation: I have just arrived at Shivsagar Railway Station with Global Sikhs, where several families are currently staying at the relief camp. People here are receiving dry ration, but they don't have stoves or gas to cook it. So how are they supposed to prepare the food?) The Swatantrya Veer Savarkar actor said that they brought langar to the camp and were serving people of all ages who have been severely affected. He added that even a small effort to provide them with a hot meal and bring a smile to their faces can make a significant difference during such a difficult time.    

    Bollywood Celebs Come Out To Help Assam Apart from Randeep Hooda, several other Bollywood celebrities are also doing their bit to help the victims of the Assam floods. Recently, actor  donated Rs 1 crore to the Assam Chief Minister's relief fund. Superstar   has also stepped forward to support those affected. Reportedly, he conducted a relief drive to distribute food, essentials and other supplies to families in the flood-hit areas. Actress Alia Bhatt, on the other hand, has been using her platform to urge people to help Assam by donating whatever they can. She has also been actively sharing details of NGOs working to support those affected. Papon, Bhumi Pednekar and Adil Hussain are among the other celebrities who have shared videos requesting everyone to do their bit and extend support during this time of need.
