Tata Punch EV gets 5-star safety rating in Bharat NCAP

Tata Motors’ new 2026 Tata Punch EV facelift electric car has performed excellently in the Bharat NCAP crash test and achieved a 5-star safety rating. Now another extremely safe car has been added to the list of Tata cars. The strength and safety of the car have been proven once again in this test conducted in May 2026.

Excellent performance in the safety of adults and children

In the Bharat NCAP crash test, the Tata Punch EV scored 31.09 out of 32 for adult safety. It scored 45 out of 49 for child safety. The ADV 40 and EMP+S 40 variants were used for this test, weighing 1,613 kilograms. This 5-star rating is applicable to a total of 6 variants, as all these variants offer the same safety standards and features.

Scores in various crash tests

While testing the strength of the car, the Punch EV scored 15.28 out of 16 in the ‘Frontal Offset Deformable Barrier’ test. The car also scored 15.80 out of 16 in the ‘Side Movable Barrier’ test. Apart from this, the results of the ‘Side Pole Impact’ test have also been very satisfactory, which shows that the car’s structure protects the passengers well in the event of an accident.

Important security features

All variants of this car have been given modern features like electronic stability control, curtain airbags for all rows, seat-belt reminders and ISOFIX child seat mounts for safety. Airbags and belt load-limiters are available for the driver and front passenger. Also, this car has proven its dominance by scoring a full 24 out of 24 points in the dynamic test for child safety.
