Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta launched the online portal for the much-awaited Delhi Lakshmi Yojana on Saturday. The application process for the scheme has also begun. Eligible women can now register themselves from the comfort of their homes on the Delhi Lakshmi Yojana portal. Under this ambitious scheme of the Delhi government, eligible women will be provided financial assistance of Rs 2,500 every month. The government aims to empower women economically and make their financial future more secure. The amount received under the scheme will be divided into two parts. Out of the total Rs 2,500, Rs 1,500 will be deposited in a fixed deposit (FD) with a lock-in period of three years, while Rs 1,000 will be available for use by the beneficiary woman.

CM Rekha Gupta said – the scheme will empower women financially.

Addressing the portal launch event, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that the Delhi Lakshmi Yojana is an important step towards economically empowering women in the capital. She said that the government has allocated a budget of Rs 5,100 crore for this scheme, which will benefit millions of women. The Chief Minister reported that a large number of women have started applying as soon as the portal was launched. She said, “The portal has been launched today and registration has also begun. I believe that around 500 sisters have successfully filled out their forms.”

CM congratulates the women of Delhi

Following the launch of the scheme, she shared an emotional message on the social media platform X. Rekha Gupta wrote, “Heartiest congratulations and best wishes to all my sisters in Delhi. The registration portal for the Delhi Lakshmi Yojana has been launched today. Now, all eligible sisters can register themselves by visiting the Delhi Lakshmi Yojana portal.” The Chief Minister said that this day is a celebration of the dignity, self-respect, and self-confidence of millions of women in Delhi. She said that the promise made during the elections was not just a declaration, but a pledge for the happiness, dignity, and a better future of women. She further wrote in her message, “When we made this promise to all of you, it was not just a declaration, but a pledge for your happiness, your dignity, and your better future. Today, we have the privilege of fulfilling that pledge.”

In her message shared on the social media platform, the Chief Minister said, “Under the Delhi Lakshmi Yojana, every eligible woman will receive financial assistance of ₹2,500 per month. This amount will further strengthen your self-esteem, revitalize your self-confidence, and stand by you as a bulwark in life’s many small and large needs.” She stated that the government is committed to making women economically self-reliant and improving their quality of life. According to the Chief Minister, this scheme is not limited to financial assistance, but also an effort to strengthen the honor and dignity of women. Rekha Gupta, referring to the Prime Minister in her message, said that her government will continue to work for women’s empowerment. She wrote, “Today, I reiterate another pledge to you that under the leadership of respected Prime Minister Narendra Modi, our BJP government will continue to work with complete dedication and sensitivity to uphold your dignity, your empowerment, and give new wings to your dreams.”

These women will not get the benefit of the scheme

According to the scheme, only women aged 21 to 60 whose family income is ₹2.50 lakh or less annually can apply. Several other conditions also apply.

Women who are already availing the benefits of any other government financial assistance scheme or pension scheme will not be able to apply.

Women who pay income tax and government employees will not be eligible for this scheme.

Women who have more than three living children are excluded from the scope of the scheme.

Families whose annual electricity consumption is more than 2,400 units will also not be able to avail the benefits of this scheme.

Families who own four-wheelers have also been excluded from the eligibility list.

Families in which any member is employed in a government job will not be able to apply for the scheme.

Families against whom any criminal case is registered will also not get the benefit of the scheme.
