Nicole 'Snooki' Polizzi announced she underwent a hysterectomy operation to treat Stage 1 cervical cancer, months after disclosing her diagnosis earlier this year. The 38-year-old reality television personality and businesswoman shared news of the surgical procedure on Friday. She credited routine Pap smears with catching her cancer early and emphasised the importance of regular screening for early detection.
Polizzi documented her surgery experience on Instagram, sharing footage from her drive to the hospital with her parents through to the moment her stretcher was wheeled into the operating room. According to her account, doctors also repaired her abdominal wall and performed a partial vaginal removal during the procedure.
