Neighbours and friends for nearly three years, actresses Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia and Aadhya Anand have found a way to keep their bond intact despite demanding schedules and working in the same industry. On Friendship Day , they reflect on the understanding that has anchored their friendship.

Aadhya, who has been part of Bombay Begums , Crushed and Friday Night Plan, says, “We’ve both grown and had completely different experiences, but there’s always been an understanding that doesn’t need constant reassurance. We want the best for each other.”

The Choti Sarrdaarni actress adds, “Aadhya and I have mutual respect and understand how demanding our profession can be. We’re happy when the other is busy because we know the effort that goes into every opportunity. Even if we don’t have time for a phone call, we stay connected through shared memes and the occasional ‘miss you’ message.”

Keeping the friendship away from the public gaze has also helped preserve its authenticity, feels Aadhya. She says, “Our friendship exists offline first. Social media is just a small highlight reel. The conversations, the support and the moments that really matter happen away from the cameras. Maintaining that balance has allowed our friendship to remain authentic instead of being shaped by public opinion.”

Despite working in the same industry, comparisons have never found a place in their friendship. Nimrit says, “We’ve never compared our careers. Instead, we’re always exchanging notes and helping each other. When you’re secure in yourself, there’s no room for insecurity. We’ve always celebrated our individual journeys as much as we’ve celebrated each other’s successes.”

Aadhya agrees. “I don’t think success is something that has to be divided between people. I’ve never looked at Nimrit’s achievements as taking anything away from mine, and I know she feels the same about my achievements.”
