Draymond Green’s future with Warriors might still be in jeopardy

The Golden State Warriors couldn’t get their top target for the 2026-27 NBA season.

LeBron James chose the Philadelphia 76ers, leaving the Dubs back to square zero. At least, they used the newfound financial flexibility to do right by Draymond Green.

The Warriors gave Green a one-year, $27.7 million contract. That was the same money he had opted out of to give the team more financial wiggle room to sign James.

However, that doesn’t mean Green’s future with the organization is safe. As ESPN insider Anthony Slater pointed out on “NBA Today,” the Warriors didn’t give him a no-trade clause, so they can still use his big salary as trade bait.
