The country’s largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki, has been working aggressively to make sure that its SUV lineup in India becomes stronger. As a result, in the next few months, we will be seeing a number of new SUVs from the company in India. So, without any delay, here are five upcoming SUVs that are expected to make their debut soon from Maruti Suzuki.

One of the first launches expected from Maruti Suzuki is the facelifted Fronx. The crossover SUV has become one of the company’s best-selling models. Recently, a few spy shots of the upcoming updated model have been shared online. This model is expected to focus mainly on refreshing its styling before the hybrid version gets launched.

The Fronx facelift will boast redesigned front and rear bumpers, a revised front grille, tweaked LED headlamps, updated tail lamps, and a fresh set of alloy wheels. The overall silhouette, however, is expected to remain unchanged. On the inside, there will not be any major changes to the cabin layout.

Mechanically, it has been reported that Maruti Suzuki could replace the existing 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with the newer 1.2-litre three-cylinder Z12E petrol engine. Meanwhile, the 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbo-petrol engine with Smart Hybrid technology is expected to continue.

Following the facelift, Maruti Suzuki is expected to introduce one of its most anticipated SUVs, the Fronx Hybrid. This model is expected to become one of the most affordable hybrid SUVs in India. It will introduce the company’s new in-house-developed series hybrid technology.

Unlike a conventional strong hybrid, the petrol engine in this setup will not directly power the wheels. Instead, it will only act as a generator to charge the battery pack. The electric motor will be responsible for driving the wheels. This will help in offering an EV-like driving experience. Meanwhile, it will improve fuel efficiency significantly. Reports suggest that Maruti Suzuki is targeting a claimed mileage of over 35 kmpl.

In terms of design, the Fronx Hybrid is expected to look almost identical to the standard model. However, there will be some minor cosmetic differences and hybrid badging. It is also expected to get more features, including a larger touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital instrument cluster, a powered driver’s seat, ventilated front seats, and Level 2 ADAS.

Maruti Suzuki is also getting ready to give the first major facelift to the Grand Vitara since its launch in 2022. Unlike the Fronx facelift, this update is expected to improve the cabin and technology. Most likely, there will not be any major styling changes on the outside.

The exterior is expected to receive only subtle cosmetic revisions. These will include a refreshed front fascia and minor styling tweaks. On the inside, however, the SUV is expected to get a redesigned dashboard, a larger infotainment touchscreen, and an updated digital instrument cluster.

The feature list is also expected to receive a meaningful upgrade with the addition of Level 2 ADAS. Maruti Suzuki is also likely to make six airbags standard across the range. Mechanically, the existing 1.5-litre petrol, strong hybrid, and CNG powertrains are expected to continue unchanged. The CNG version could also get an underbody-mounted cylinder. This will help in freeing up more luggage space compared to the current model.

Maruti Suzuki is also developing an all-new three-row version of the Grand Vitara. Internally codenamed Y17, this new SUV will target buyers looking for a practical family SUV with hybrid powertrain options.

Compared to the standard Grand Vitara, the seven-seater will feature a longer wheelbase and an extended rear overhang to accommodate the third row of seats. It will also get a few unique styling elements to distinguish it from the regular model.

The equipment list is expected to be significantly more premium. Expected features include a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, a digital instrument cluster, a head-up display, a wireless phone charger, a 360-degree camera, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and Level 2 ADAS.

Powertrain options are expected to remain identical to the standard Grand Vitara. Buyers will most likely get the same 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol and 1.5-litre strong hybrid engines. Once launched, it will rival the Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV 7XO, and MG Hector Plus.

The final SUV on this list is the all-new Maruti Suzuki Y43. This upcoming model will effectively replace the discontinued Ignis and will enter the micro SUV segment. The Y43 will most likely be positioned below the Brezza and is expected to be sold through Maruti Suzuki’s Nexa dealership network. It will primarily compete against the Tata Punch, Hyundai Exter, and Citroen C3.

Although official details remain under wraps, reports suggest the Y43 could use the same 1.2-litre three-cylinder Z12E petrol engine that powers the latest Swift and Dzire. Maruti Suzuki is also expected to introduce a factory-fitted CNG version to keep running costs low.

Pricing is expected to range between Rs 5 lakh and Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom). This will make it one of the brand’s most affordable SUVs. It is likely to be launched towards the end of 2026 or in early 2027. There are also unconfirmed reports that suggest Maruti Suzuki could develop an electric version of the Y43 in the future. This would take on models such as the Tata Punch.ev and Citroen eC3.
