In a tragic incident in Pune, Maharashtra, a couple and their 19-year-old daughter reportedly took their own lives. Authorities revealed that a suicide note found at the scene cited financial difficulties as a contributing factor. According to police, Vinod Pillai, aged 50, passed away on Saturday, while his wife, Shreeja Pillai, 45, and their daughter, Purnima Pillai, were declared dead by doctors on Sunday.
The incident occurred in the Morwadi area of the city. The family originally hailed from Kerala and had been residing in the Pimpri region for the past three years. The suicide note indicated that no one else was to blame for their tragic decision.
The situation came to light when Shreeja, who worked as a coordinator at a local school, failed to report for work. Concerned colleagues attempted to reach her by phone but received no response. They then contacted her relatives, who also tried to get in touch without success. Eventually, some nearby relatives visited the Pillai home and found the door ajar.
Inside, they discovered all three family members unconscious, prompting them to alert the police. Following this, the couple and their daughter were rushed to the hospital, where Vinod was pronounced dead on Saturday, and Shreeja and Purnima succumbed to their conditions on Sunday. The investigation into the case is ongoing.
