The University Grants Commission (UGC) has released crucial details regarding two significant scholarship programs available via the National Scholarship Portal (NSP). The online application process for the 'National Scholarship for Post-Graduate Studies' (NSPG) and the 'Ishan Uday Special Scholarship Scheme' is set to begin shortly.

Application Process and Timeline

The UGC has indicated that the specific start date for applications and the complete schedule will be announced separately. Applications for both scholarship programs will be accepted solely through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).

Instructions for Higher Education Institutions

The UGC has instructed the Institutional Nodal Officers (INOs) at all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to finalize the verification, approval, identification of errors, or rejection of scholarship applications submitted on the NSP within a 15-day timeframe.

This system aims to allow students to correct any mistakes or deficiencies in their applications promptly, ensuring they can submit accurate applications before the portal closes.

Support for Students

Moreover, the UGC has urged institutions to offer necessary guidance and assistance to eligible students throughout the application process and to help resolve any issues that may arise.

Target Beneficiaries

The 'National Scholarship for Post-Graduate Studies' (NSPG) is aimed at students engaged in post-graduate (PG) level education.

Conversely, the 'Ishan Uday Special Scholarship Scheme' is tailored for students hailing from the North Eastern Region of India.

Preparation for Applicants

Students interested in applying for these scholarships should prepare their academic certificates and other required documents in advance. They are also encouraged to frequently check the official NSP and UGC websites for updates to ensure timely submission of their applications once the application dates are announced.
