Ram Mishra, Amethi. Police have achieved a major success by busting a gang of thieves operating in Amethi, Uttar Pradesh. The district’s Bazar Shukul police station, acting with diligence, arrested two notorious thieves who had committed four separate thefts. Police also recovered a large quantity of stolen gold and silver jewelry, thousands of rupees in cash, and a pickup truck used to transport the stolen goods.

In fact, “Operation Chakravyuh” is being conducted under the direction of Superintendent of Police Sarvanan T. to curb the rising crime and theft incidents in the district. As part of this campaign, a police team under the supervision of Circle Officer Musafirkhana Atul Kumar Singh was patrolling the area. Meanwhile, an informant received confirmed information that some suspicious individuals in a pickup truck were waiting to commit a major crime or dispose of stolen goods.

Upon receiving the news, the Bazar Shukul police wasted no time in cordoning off the area. As soon as the police team arrived, they spotted three men near a pickup truck. Seeing the police approaching, the accused panicked and tried to flee. However, the alert officers surrounded them and apprehended two of the accused, while a third accomplice managed to escape, taking advantage of the darkness and the opportunity.

The arrested accused have been identified as Chhedi alias Arjun, a resident of the Jagdishpur police station area, and Narendra Kumar, a resident of Bazar Shukul. The absconding accused is identified as Nirmal, also from Jagdishpur.

A large quantity of cash and jewellery was recovered from the thieves.

When the police searched the two arrested criminals, they recovered a large amount of stolen property. Accused Narendra was found in possession of 25,000 rupees in cash, four gold-like yellow metal rings, three pairs of silver anklets, and three pairs of toe rings. Chhedi, also known as Arjun, was found in possession of 40,000 rupees in cash, four yellow metal rings, and three pairs of silver anklets.

Not only this, the police were also astonished when they searched the pickup truck in which the accused were standing. Three large copper decks and three sacks of wheat were also recovered from the vehicle. A total of 65,000 rupees in cash was recovered from the two men.

The accused were trying to sell the goods

During interrogation, the arrested criminals confessed to their crimes. They revealed that all the recovered goods and cash were stolen goods, which the three had stolen from various locations. In fact, the absconding accused, Nirmal, had borrowed the pickup truck under the pretense of borrowing some money. On Sunday, the three had loaded the stolen goods into the market, intending to sell or dispose of them, but were apprehended by the police before they could succeed in their plans.

According to police officials, based on the seizure, relevant charges have been added to the case. Legal proceedings are currently underway to remand the two arrested accused to judicial custody, while raids are underway at potential hideouts to search for Nirmal, who is absconding.
