Akhilesh Reddy Banned For 8 Years: The Anti-Corruption Tribunal of the International Cricket Council (ICC) has banned American cricketer Bodugum Akhilesh Reddy from all formats of cricket for 8 years. Cricketer Bodugum Akhilesh Reddy has been found guilty of violating 3 different rules of the ICC Anti-Corruption Code. This entire matter is to the Abu Dhabi T10 2025 held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). For this, the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) had given the responsibility of monitoring anti-corruption activities to the ICC. According to the ICC, Bodugum Akhilesh Reddy tried to influence the result of the match and the game.
Found guilty of 3 crimes
The ICC Anti-Corruption Tribunal found Akhilesh Reddy guilty under three different articles: Attempting to fix a match, Inciting another player, and Obstructing an investigation.
Article 2.1.1 – Conspiring, attempting to influence, or being party to any agreement or attempt to influence, the result, progress, conduct or any other aspect of matches at the Abu Dhabi T10 2025.
Article 2.1.4 – Inciting, inducing, enticing, instructing, persuading, encouraging or intentionally facilitating another participant to commit a breach of Article 2.1.1 of the Code in one or more matches at the Abu Dhabi T10 2025.
Article 2.4.7 – Obstructing the DACO investigation by deleting data and messages from a mobile device that may be relevant to the DACO investigation.
Who is Akhilesh Reddy?
26-year-old Bodugum Akhilesh Reddy has played four T20 Internationals for the US team. He made his international debut for the US against the Cayman Islands in the North American T20 Cup. However, his international career did not last long. Now, after being banned for corruption, his career appears to be over.
