New Delhi: India ended its campaign at the Commonwealth Games 2026 by winning 39 medals and finishing fourth in the medal tally. Its boxers played a crucial role in making India’s campaign so successful. Out of the 39 medals won by India, 10 came only because of the boxers’ punches. The important thing is that 7 out of those 10 medals were gold. Now, Indian boxers have shown the fruits of their hard work and given their best performance ever in the Commonwealth Games. But, what about the hard work of the people who were behind their success? We are talking about the support staff of the Indian boxers, who have not received their salaries for 3 months.

According to a report in Amar Ujala, 12 support staff members of the Indian boxing team have not received their salaries for three months. These 12 members worked day and night to prepare the boxers for the CWG, from NIS Patiala to preparations in Belfast. Among those who have not received their salaries is Dronacharya Award-winning head coach C. Kuttappa.

In addition to the team’s head coach, the support staff, including team doctors Jitin Krishnan and Yesha Patel, psychiatrist Maithili Bhuptani, video analysts Nitin Kumar and Sanjeet Sharma, are also awaiting their salaries. The team’s three male and three female massage therapists have also not received their salaries.

Now, the first question is, what is the salary of the Indian boxing team’s support staff? According to reports, coaches earn between 1.5 and 2 lakh rupees. Doctors earn 1.5 lakh rupees. Massage therapists earn 40,000 and 50,000 rupees. Psychiatrists earn 1 lakh rupees, and video analysts earn up to 80,000 rupees.

According to reports, some of the boxing team’s support staff have appealed to SAI for clarification on the matter. They stated that if the salary issue isn’t clarified soon, it will impact the national camp scheduled for preparation for the Asian Games at NIS Patiala, starting August 10th. It will be difficult for them to participate.
