The team are staying on the 3rd, 5th and 10th floors at the Harris Hotel & Convention Cibinong City Mall, which is located on a busy main street in Bogor, only about 1.5 km from the Pakansari Stadium where a Group A match between Indonesia and Vietnam will be hosted on Monday evening.

Around 1:45 a.m., low-altitude fireworks were launched in front of the hotel and lasted for about one minute, accompanied by car horns.

It is currently unknown who set off the fireworks and whether the Vietnam players were disturbed by the noise.

In 2024, Indonesian fans also set off fireworks outside Le Meridien Jakarta hotel at nearly 4 a.m. as the Vietnam national team were staying there for the first leg of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

The incident sparked controversy at the time as many Indonesian fans were also upset by their compatriots’ actions, arguing that disrupting the opponents’ sleep was unsportsmanlike.

The Monday match will be crucial for Vietnam in the 2026 ASEAN Cup run. Currently sitting third in Group A with 4 points, 2 points behind Indonesia and 3 points behind Singapore, coach Kim Sang-sik’s team need at least a draw with goals to maintain their hopes of advancing. The match is scheduled to kick off at 8:30 p.m. (Hanoi time).
