The International Cricket Council (ICC), the world’s governing body, has banned American cricketer Bodugum Akhilesh Reddy from all forms of cricket for eight years after the Anti-Corruption Tribunal found him guilty of violating three counts of its anti-corruption code.
According to the ICC, Reddy was found guilty of attempting to fix a match during the Abu Dhabi T10 League 2025, inciting another player to fix a match, and destroying evidence from his mobile phone during the investigation. Reddy’s ban will be effective from November 21, 2025. He has been provisionally suspended from that time.
DACO investigated the matter
The ICC issued a statement saying that the matter was investigated by Designated Anti-Corruption Officials (DACOs) appointed by the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB). The tribunal found Reddy guilty of the following offences under three codes:
- Article 2.1.1 – Attempting to fix, manipulate or unfairly influence the result, progress, conduct or any other aspect of matches at the Abu Dhabi T10 2025; or being involved in any agreement or attempt to fix, manipulate or unfairly influence in any way.
- Article 2.1.4 – Inciting, enticing, persuading or assisting another player or participant to fix a match.
- Article 2.4.7 – Deleting data and messages from mobile during investigation.
How many matches has Reddy played for America?
The 26-year-old Reddy has played four T20 Internationals for the United States, taking one wicket. He made his USA debut against the Cayman Islands during the North America Cup.
