Planning to buy a new Maruti Suzuki next month? You may have to stretch your budget a little more. India’s largest carmaker has announced another price revision across its model range, with prices set to increase by up to Rs 30,000 from August 2026. The latest revision comes just weeks after the company raised prices in June, making it the second hike within three months. In a regulatory filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), Maruti Suzuki said the decision was driven by continued inflationary pressure and an unfavourable cost environment. The company stated that it has been absorbing a part of the higher costs but now needs to pass on a portion of the increase to customers. “The company is constrained to pass on a portion of the increased cost to the market, while continuing to ensure that the impact on customers is kept to the minimum extent possible,” the company said in its filing. The price increase will vary depending on the model and variant. However, Maruti Suzuki has not yet released a model-wise breakup of the revised prices. As a result, the actual increase for individual vehicles will differ across the company’s portfolio. For prospective buyers, the timing of the purchase could make a difference. Customers who complete their bookings before the revised prices come into effect may still be eligible for the current pricing, subject to the terms and conditions of the dealership as well as the vehicle’s delivery schedule. Automakers across the industry have been dealing with rising input costs and inflationary pressures in recent months, prompting several manufacturers to revise vehicle prices.
