India’s biggest achievement came from Sharmila Dhankhar, who won a gold medal with a stellar performance. Sharmila’s gold medal marked India’s second gold medal, further strengthening Team India’s position in the medal tally. India also won three silver medals on the fifth day. Sarvesh Kushare, Valluri Ajay Babu, and Gyaneshwari Yadav performed brilliantly in their respective events, securing second place.
Shilpa and Bindyarani shine with bronze medals
The Indian contingent also won two bronze medals. Shilpa K. Shayla and Bindyarani Devi put up a valiant effort in their bouts and secured a third-place finish.
India’s medal tally reaches 10
With the six medals won on the fifth day, India’s total medal count has reached 10. These include two gold, five silver, and three bronze medals. This impressive performance has helped India secure eighth place in the Commonwealth Games medal tally. This is considered a significant achievement for India compared to the initial days.
Australia Remains on Top
Australia continues to dominate the medal tally. It has a total of 59 medals, including 26 gold, 13 silver, and 20 bronze. England remains in second place with 32 medals, while Canada is in third place with 21 medals. Countries like Nigeria, Scotland, South Africa, and Malaysia are next. India has reached eighth place with 10 medals.
